An advance statement on the remarks by Association President Philip Hochstein claims Site C will give British Columbia a new source of reliable and renewable electricity that will help build the province for generations to come.
It also reiterates the Hydro projection of 10,000 direct jobs with another 23,000 indirect ones created during the construction period, and predicts what he calls major economic and financial benefits for the Peace River Region.
Hochstein adds that B.C. Hydro has done a substantial amount of research and preparation to mitigate or eliminate the impacts of the project, and that the construction industry will do its part by employing the most environmentally friendly techniques available to build the project.
Wednesday’s general session continues tonight at the Pomeroy Hotel from 7 to 9 p.m. and again Thursday at 9 a.m.
