Risk of freezing rain.

A warm front moving inland off the Pacific Ocean today is expected to bring a layer of milder air over the BC Interior. Surface temperatures in the central and northern interior will likely struggle to rise above the freezing mark and in combination with warmer air aloft, freezing rain is possible either today or this evening depending on location.

Should freezing rain occur, travel could become treacherous.

The public is advised to monitor future forecasts and warnings as warnings may be required or extended.

Freezing rain warning for 
Grande Prairie – Beaverlodge – Valleyview issued

Freezing rain this evening and overnight.

A warm front will push eastward through West-Central Alberta this evening and bring with it periods of freezing rain. Freezing rain will begin early this evening near the BC border and will push eastward to the Athabasca area by Monday morning. Conditions will improve by mid morning on Monday.

Areas to the south and east of the warned regions including the City of Edmonton are advised to monitor the forecasts throughout the day as there is a chance freezing rain will occur in these areas overnight into Monday morning.
