Maxine Peters was snowboarding in an “out-of-bounds” area of the ski resort when she lost control after going over a small jump and fell into very deep powdered snow.

The B.C. Coroners Service and the Mackenzie RCMP continue to investigate this death.

The family of Ms. Peters has been notified of the death.

A man also died while skiing at Powder King in January 2013. 52 year old Gregory Joshua Pichler from Fort St. James collapsed after complaining of feeling unwell near the top of the mountain and was unable to be resuscitated.
