It’s comprised of 540 kilometres of new pipeline between Taylor and the Edmonton region, and new pipe will be laid in three segments: south of Taylor, west of Fox Creek, and between Fox Creek and Edmonton.

Underpinned by long-term agreements with 30 oil and gas liquids customers, Pembina says it has increased its 2014 capital spending from $1.5 to $1.7 billion. However, it expects most of the money for the expansion will be spent during the construction periods from 2015 through 2016.

Pembina has begun the process of obtaining regulatory approvals and will commence First Nation consultation and its public involvement program for the expansion early in the New Year.
