The Flyers opened the game with two goals to take a 2-0 lead, but before the period was done Spirit River would find the back of the net with less than two minutes remaining to make it 2-1 after the opening frame.

Both teams traded goals in the second to make it 3-2, but again Spirit River got their marker late to take momentum into the third period.

Spirit River got the lone goal in the third period to tie the game at three. Overtime solved nothing, so the teams went to a shootout where the Rangers took the win.
