Games for the pond hockey tournament are scheduled to get underway on Friday evening and will carry on through Saturday and Sunday.

The Crystal Cup competition will feature 35 teams taking to the ice and the new Sapphire Cup will have five squads lacing up the skates.

Also added to this year’s event is an underage pond hockey challenge for those between 5-18 years old. Registration for the underage challenge is the day of the event on February 8 from 10 a.m. until 12 noon. The action will then get underway immediately at 12 p.m. and go until 2 p.m. Food and drinks will be provided on site and participation medals will be distributed at the conclusion of the event.

Those wanting to take part are encouraged to go to the North Peace Leisure Pool for a package. The package must be returned with the entry fee at the pool for entry to be confirmed. The package can also be printed off by visiting the official website of the Crystal Cup.
