Fivestar Fight League Fighter of the Week: Malcom Clearance

Clearance says he got involved in mixed martial arts out of curiosity and had been bugging Fivestar Owner Justin Donally for a chance to prove himself in the octagon.

“I was always interested in fighting so I figured I would give it a try. I just came down here one day and I liked it. I got involved almost a year ago,” he says. “I was starting to ask Justin [Donally] for awhile. I almost quit on it but then Justin came to me with a fight.”

Clearance is involved with high school wrestling and will be looking to put those skills to use during his fight.

He says his friends and family, and classmates think it’s great that he’ll be taking part in the upcoming card.

Clearance plans on coming out strong in the contest and has no problem changing his gameplan if the wrestling doesn’t work out.

“I’m expecting to come out really aggressive and if I can’t beat him on the feet and take him down I think I have pretty good jiu jit su and wrestling.”

As for the event itself, only five of the 20 additional tables that were added last week are still available. The initial 60 tables sold out in two weeks.

Those interested in tables can call 250-785-2736, or email fivestarfightleague@gmail.com. General tickets  are available at Fivestar Athletics, Hi-Performance Motor Sports, Marc Joseph and Trends Clothing, The Barber Shop, and MC Rehabilitation and Wellness.

First row seats are $100, second row is $90, third row seats go for $80, and general admission seats are $65.
