CNRL buys Painted Pony Energy

CALGARY, A.B. - Canadian Natural Resources Limited has announced it will acquire Painted Pony Energy Ltd.

Last year Fort St. John was up to 103rd after being dropped to the 125th spot in 2012, from 111th in 2011. In 2009 the city was ranked as high as 34th.

Elsewhere in the region, Dawson Creek made a big jump up in the rankings. After falling in the last report from 89th to 112th, the community is now up to 73rd. Grande Prairie continues to improve. They’re up to 57th after jumping to 87th place from 95th in 2012. Prince George came in 148th overall, down three spots from 145.
St. Albert, Alberta  topped the list this year, with last year’s winner Calgary moving down to second. The rankings are based on a number of factors, including employment numbers, crime rates and weather.
