Fivestar Athletics shows off programs at Fort St. John Trade Show

Fivestar owner Justin Donally says muay thai kickboxing master Kru Darren Robson was going through a number of sessions with those belonging to Fivestar to showcase some of the programs offered at the gym.

“They got to see what we’re doing with the pro fighters and a bit with the kids,” he says. “Darren is an extremely good muay thai kick boxing instructor and he was working some stuff with the fighters just to show people what they can do through the programs, kids programs, and ladies programs as well.”

Donally says the gym has options available to everybody regardless of age or gender. He adds that it’s a family atmosphere with most members being women and children.

“I always tell everybody it’s a family training centre. We’ve got ladies that train there. We’ve got kids starting at three years old all the way up to professional fighters and everything in between. There’s literally something for everybody; if you’re 50 or 60 years old or if you want to lose a few pounds it’s just a great, fun atmosphere,” he explains. “One misconception is that we’re an MMA gym. We’re not an MMA gym. Of course we have MMA fighters but we’re a kickboxing jiu jitsu club that produces MMA fighters. There’s that dark cloud it seems when people are nervous to walk into an MMA club but we are a family training centre.”

Anyone interested in finding out about the available classes at Fivestar Athletics are encouraged to visit the gym at 10116 94 Avenue or visit the website by clicking here.
