The rain is expected to start late Tuesday with up to 15 millimetres in the forecast. The majority of the rain will fall on Wednesday when we could see up to 20 mm.
In the South Peace, Environment Canada says that region could see up to 25mm by the end of the day Wednesday.
This is the twentieth anniversary of another precipitation record at the local airport weather station.
It was on this day in 1994, that Fort St John received 28 point nine millimeters of rain, establishing the one day April record.
Meantime, it’s also worth noting the airport station posted 0.6 mm of rain early Easter Sunday, and that was just enough to push the month-to-date-precipitation total to 20mm, matching the April average.
