The snowfall warning remains in place for the Fort Nelson region. A long period of snowfall, with total amounts of 20 to 30 cm is expected.
A low pressure system is spreading moisture into northeastern British Columbia. Snow is will continue today in Muncho Lake and Stone Mountain Provincial Parks as well as southern sections of Fort Nelson region including Sikanni Chief and portions of the Alaska Highway. Additional accumulations of up to 15 cm of snow is expected by early this evening.
Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
Meanwhile, Fort St. John could get up to 5cm of snow before it turns back into rain. The forecast calls for rainfall amounts near 15 mm. Snowfall amount 5 cm near the foothills.
