The Fort St. John Farmers’ Market celebrates 30 years in operation

“It’s nice to see the community come out… instead of going to the store because it’s all homemade and locally grown,” Market Manager, Marvi Unruh said. “It’s kind of cool to see… there are actually lots of customer who prefer to do that.”

Plenty of locally grown goods are available for you to choose from; honey, crafts, fruits and vegetables, baked goods and pottery plants are just a few.

Unruh says after a successful play at this year’s trade show, the market is seeing a boost in vendors. For example, a gentleman for William Lake will be selling his homemade bunk beds for first time.

Unruh also says the money spent at the market will support the hard work of farmers and craftsman from Fort St. John, Prespatou, Montney, Pouce Coupe and Dawson Creek.

You can keep track of what’s going on at the Farmers’ Market by liking their Facebook page or visiting their website, fsjfarmersmarket.ca.
