Arrests made in Prince George drug trafficking investigation

On Wednesday, RCMP raided a house in the 200 block of Crysdale Drive in Mackenzie, where a 24 year old male and a 22 year old female were found in possession of 9.5 ounces of methamphetamine and 2 ounces of crack cocaine.

The seizure and arrest lead police to another home in the 200 block of Ospika Blvd, early Thursday morning. There, RCMP officers found another ounce of cocaine, a small quantity of meth, documents indicating 5 figure drug sales, a prohibited weapon, scales and packaging materials “consistent with those found during the arrest in Mackenzie.”

“These search warrants were supported by information provided to the police by concerned citizens who are also committed to ridding their community of this (drug) problem,” a press release reads. “It is through these types of collaborative partnerships that criminal drug activity is effectively reduced.”

Charges are expected to be laid against both the male and female, although they were both released from custody after making a court appearance.
