B.C. men rescued after a close call in Yukon

The reports says the trio, a resident from Fort St. John and Pouce Coupe, as well as a Whitehorse man were tossed into the water at about 6 p.m. last night when their jet boat overturned, about 400 kilometres north of Whitehorse.

The craft and all the supplies were washed away, but one of the men managed to hang onto a satellite phone and used it to call for help after all three swam to shore.

Police say the men were able to light fires and stay warm until help arrived.

Mounties used a private helicopter to reach the scene less than an hour later and carried the men to safety.
