May Sale of Crown Petroleum & Nat Gas Rights

The province is coming off a disappointing April sale with bonus bids of only $10.4 million and that’s just barely more than half of the March sale, and only about 40% of the one in February.

On offer today are 17 leases and seven drilling licenses covering slightly more than 13 000 hectares, and the accepted offers will be announced by the Minister of Natural Gas Development tomorrow.

Last year the May bonus bid total was $21 million, with 26 parcels covering nearly 18 000 hectares offered, and 17 of them covering nearly 13 000 hectares purchased.
