In a release Community Bridge board member Connie Chilcott says, “This is the first time this kind of meeting has happened in the region. This opportunity will strengthen our individual organizations, our community and the individuals we support. Community Bridge is excited to take a leadership role in promoting a stronger social policy framework within our community.”
The first half of the event will consist of a training session put on by Vancouver based not for profit organization Vantage Point. It will go over how to make boards more effective, aligning board participation to organizational values and vision as well as other areas.
In the second half of the day BoardVoice Chair Michael Davis will be having a discussion between various boards about goals and how to achieve them. He’ll also present a social policy framework and how that can benefit communities.
