Black Sox looking surpass 2013 win total over weekend

The team will join others from the Wheatbelt Baseball League in Peace River as they take part in a mini tournament in Peace River. The format is new to the Wheatbelt Baseball League schedule this season and while no trophies are at stake the wins and losses do count in the regular season standings. The change was implemented to cut down on the travel of the teams in the league.

The Black Sox will play their first game Saturday afternoon against Grande Prairie. That’s followed by a game Saturday evening against Peace River. The Sox will wrap up their weekend Sunday afternoon with a tilt against Grimshaw.

The next home game for the Black Sox is scheduled for June 19 at 7 p.m. against the Rycroft Rage.
