On Friday, police received a call from an American law enforcement agency regarding the possession and distribution of child pornography, after the agency managed to pinpoint the location of the computer to an address in Fort St. John.

RCMP obtained a search warrant for the address and arrested a 39 year old male.

Barton Christopher Tetreau is charged with possession of child pornography and distribution of child pornography.

Electronic devices were seized from the residence and Tetreau’s computer is in the process of being examined.

Police are considering other charges after further investigation.

He’s been released from custody with conditions including having no contact with anyone under the age of 16.

Tetreau’s next court appearance is August 6, 2014.
