Get your community spirit ready for the World’s Invitational Class “A”Gold Panning Championships Parade in Taylor


“Do you have a car, truck or tractor you would like to put into the parade to represent your community spirit?” the parade invitation reads. “The Gold Panning Committee encourages all types of parade entries so the Gold Panning Parade will represent our diverse region!”

The World’s Invitational Gold Panning Championship is a family event, kicking off Friday night with the Parade traveling from the Taylor arena throughout the District and along the Alaska Highway.

The Gold Panning weekend is packed with activities including,  bannok baking, duck races, candy crush kids gold panning, pancake breakfasts, a Saturday steak dinner, movie night and much more.

The Gold Panning event on Saturday and Sunday is located at the beautiful Peace Island Park.

If you’re interested in camping, camp site fees at Peace Island Park are $15.00 – $20.00 per family each night.

It’s recommended to reserve an early spot by calling 250 789 9295 as spots become booked quickly during the event.

If you’re interested in showcase your community spirit by entering your business, organization or society  in the parade, contact Laura Prosko at 250 789 3392.

Everyone is welcome and entry is free.

The deadline to apply for the parade is Friday July 25, 2014.
