“The Peace River region is joining thousands of communities across the country in protecting the environment by providing residents with an environmentally responsible way to safely dispose of used batteries,” Executive Director of Call2Recycle Canada, Joe Zenobio said. “Participating in a battery recycling program is one important way communities can make themselves healthier, safer and more sustainable.”

Since 1996, Call2Recycle has collected 34,000,000 kilograms of batteries from cellphones, laptops, cordless phones, cordless power tools, tablets and other electronic devices.

Call2Recycle is the first program of its kind to attain Responsible Recycling Practices Standard certification, as well as Basel Action Network e-Steward qualification, upholding strict third-party standards for environmental safety and social responsibility.
