The city wants to hear from the public before the revision of landscaping bylaws

These amendments pertain to Residential and Commercial Island landscaping, including parking lots.

The provision put forward looks to create a minimum space of 3m x 6.5m for single row parking and 3m x 13m for a double row of parking.

In addition, the amendment will allow design alternatives to be considered where the landscaped area is equivalent to the surface allocated for the island, which may include additional drainage swales.

The potential landscapes will also be required to reflect the intent of the aforementioned provisions, not including any buffering or screening provisions already listed by the existing Zoning Bylaw.

The hearing in Council Chambers on June 23 will begin at 6:00 p.m., during which time the public will have a chance to make presentations to council or present written submissions in respect to the matters contained in the proposed bylaws.

Copies of the proposed bylaw and related documents are available at City Hall, located at 10631 100 Street, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
