The second phase of a community planning seeks input from chamber members

City council is looking to enhance the downtown area as the economic, social and cultural heart of the community, and has prioritized the plan as “an integral part of the implementation of the 2011 Official Community Plan (OCP)”.

“Fort St. John is at an important cross road and is expected to undergo significant growth over the coming years,” says The Chamber of Commerce. “Our downtown has a key role to play in improving the quality and livability of the community as it undergoes this transformation.”

The discussion is being held at the Pomeroy Hotel & Convention Centre, Thursday June 12, from 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. Registration information is available via the Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber is charging $25.00 for members and $35.00 for prospective members to come have breakfast and hear the presentation.

There will be multiple opportunities for public input. If you’re interested,  keep watch at the city website, www.fortstjohn.ca for a link to the Place Speak site, and look for the “Energize Downtown” booth at the Canada Day celebration.
