Three injured in two local traffic accidents

At 10:40 a.m. Fort St. John RCMP received a call about an accident involving three vehicles at 100 Street and the Alaska Highway. A northbound van on the Alaska Highway proceeded through a red light and collided with a southbound vehicle on 100 Street. The impact of the collision caused the van to enter the oncoming lane and hit another vehicle that was stopped at the red light.

The 31 year old female driver of the van sustained minor injuries and may face charges. The passenger in the van, a three year old female was taken to Fort St. John hospital with facial lacerations.

Around noon RCMP responded to an incident at the Alaska Highway and 108 Street. The collision was caused after a driver was travelling northbound on the highway ignored a flag person and came into contact with a left turning truck. The impact caused the truck to hit a third vehicle in the vicinity. The driver of the northbound vehicle was taken to hospital with a hand injury and may also face charges.
