United Way golf tournament supports programs within community

Niki Hedges of United Way Northern B.C. says the tournament was warmly received within the community and helps the public be more aware of the contributions made by the organization.

“This year we’ve had a great response for the golf tournament. Every year it’s run there’s more awareness of United Way and the work we do and the value of the work we do increases,” she explains. “We’ve had a great response from sponsorships and we’ve also had some very good prizes donated for the silent auctions so I’m very happy with how things have turned out.”

She adds the money raised will cover three areas that covers the entire Northern B.C. area.

Through those three pillars we will make strategic investments in the community to help the most amount of people.”

Anyone wanting to make a donation to the United Way can contact Hedges at 250-263-9266. A total raised at this year’s tournament is not yet available.
