Wildfire beginning to calm after weekend weather

Fire information officer Jill Kelsh says the fire has calmed down a little bit in the past few days, thanks to some rain and snow.

Kelsh also says the blaze has burned more than 4,300 hectares and has claimed 6 uninhabited cabins, which were used for hunting.

The fire was first reported June 2nd, and officials believe it was caused by a lightening strike.

During the weekend it reportedly produced a lot of drift smoke visible in Mackenzie and even Dawson Creek.
