A few more days of extreme heat before the cool relief

They say temperatures reaching into the low to mid-30’s are likely to persist through mid-week before returning to more seasonable conditions.

Meantime, record-high temperatures were again set in several communities over the weekend including Fort St. John.

It didn’t happen here yesterday, with the high of 32.2 degrees, but it did on Saturday, when the airport weather station posted 32.5 degrees.

Prior to that, July 12th and 13th 2007 records were 31.3 degrees and 33.1 degrees, so the latter still stands.

However today’s 2007 record of 29 degrees, and tomorrow’s 1949 mark of 27.8 degrees, both look like they’re about to disappear with forecast highs for the next two days of 32 degrees.
