B.C. Sailing’s summer camp begins next week, still time to register children

There are three levels in which your child can register; The Wet Feet course, a half day course, emphasizing basic sailing skills and water safety, the Optimist Level 1 course, building on skills learned in the first course and stepping into the more practical measures of moving, steering and terminology, and finally, Optimist Level 2, introducing young sailors to the world of racing, sailing in different weather condition, and adjusting the position of the boat.

While your child does not have to be an avid swimmer, they should be comfortable in and on the water with a life jacket or PFD.

All the lessons are taught through fun games and activities, under the supervision of 2 highly trained B.C. Sailing instructor and a local volunteer.

The sailing camp runs from Monday July 7 – Friday July 11, taking place at  Beatton Park in Charlie Lake.

You can register your child at bcsailing.bc.ca.
