Fort St. John experiencing effect of recent forest fires

Information Officer, Jill Kelsh says the smoke can be attributed to a few different fires, whether from parts of the northwest, Mackenzie or likely the ongoing forest fire southeast of Tumbler Ridge.

The Ministry of Health says the smoke lingering in the air posses a threat for those with asthma and other respiratory issues, aggravating the common symptoms.

They say in this case, it’s best to stay indoors, limit exercise and even wear a protective mask if you must go outdoors.
