The United Way of Northern B.C. applauds successful fundraisers

The weekend event takes place August 23  in Dawson Creek, September 7 in Chetwynd, September 13 in Tumbler Ridge, September 20 in Fort St. John, and September 27 in Fort Nelson.

“All proceeds are invested strategically to support the work of UWNBC through the United Way’s three pillars; All That Kids Can Be, Poverty to Possibility and Healthy People & Healthy Communities, investing in a combination of programs and services that will get to the root causes and where there is the greatest need,” Community Development and Campaign Officer, Niki Hedges said.

Meanwhile, the 2014 Annual Golf Tournament accumulated over $70,000 in donations, and the United Way Charity Soccer Tournament raised just over $2,416, compared to the $1,320 of the previous year.
