“See if it’s possible to find a framework, to get this dispute resolved, and so far we haven’t done that. The parties are still a long ways apart.”
Seven hours after talks started, mediator Vince Ready decided to call it a night after bargaining barely moved forward.
Ready is expecting to meet with the BCTF later this afternoon at 1 p.m. He also noted neither side is ready for mediation.
Meanwhile BCTF’s Jim Iker kept comments about the process to a minimum.
“So we’ll be meeting with Mr. Ready tomorrow and we’ll see what tomorrow brings.”
The superintendent for schools in Fort St. John said on Friday teachers will not be in class on Tuesday unless something drastic changed over the weekend.
