This after a meeting Wednesday, between Education Minister Peter Fassbender, and the same two negotiators, calling for an agreement, to suspend strike and lockout activities, for two weeks, if and when mediation starts.

The BC Teachers Federation is looking at its options on how to consult its members over a request by the Education minister to stand down its strike action for two weeks.

The union says it could mean a vote, but either way it will take a few days to organize and get a result back.

That said the BCTF says it is focused on this afternoon’s meeting with mediator Vince Ready to gauge what happens next.
