This community-led event is dedicated to raising awareness and funds for kidney disease, as well as the importance of organ donation.

The kidney walk is a provincial initiative, which has raised over $1,000,000 since it began in 2008, and works in conjunction with the Kidney Foundation of Canada, who are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year.

“We have a lot to be proud of and it’s in large part thanks to our wonderful volunteers and supporters over the years who have contributed significantly to the foundation,” The Kidney Foundation of Canada said.

The kidney walk will take place at Centennial Park on Sunday August 17, with registration starting at 9:00 a.m. and the walk commencing at 10:00 a.m.
