Sgt. Lindsey Houghton of B.C.’s Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit says the suspect was arrested on gun, drug and property-related crimes following a four-hour police chase.
In mid-August, police began an investigation into a group of drug dealers, led by the suspect arrested, believed to be gang members from Grand Prairie, according to Houghton.
It’s alleged the group was operating on a rural property outside Dawson Creek, which led investigators into a search for stolen goods, drugs and guns.
At this point, the prime suspect fled, first on foot and than on an all-terrain vehicle, forcing officers, K9 units and a helicopter to pursue him for nearly four hours before he was finally apprehended.
Houghton says police found a loaded handgun, $35,000 in cash and drugs on the man.
Police also seized $200,000 worth of stolen goods from the property, including a boat, a trailer, pickup trucks and a motorcycle.
