“Every year, thousands of animal-lovers in more than 34 communities across B.C. register, fundraise and walk to fight animal cruelty at the Scotiabank and B.C. SPCA Paws for a Cause,” reads the BC SPCA registration hand-out.
There’s plenty of “start/finish line activities” for you to enjoy, including a vender market, prizes, games, demonstrations and face painting for the kids.
Of course, any four-legged friends are also welcome to join in on the fun.
There’s a $10.00 registration fee available online, or you can register at the event.
The money raised will be allocated as such:
- $200.00 to provide emergency supplies for an animal rescue.
- $350.00 to fund a first response to an animal cruelty case.
- $500.00 to shelter and care for an animal in need.
“Every dollar you raise makes a difference and ensures we continue to protect and enhance the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in B.C.” the hand-out continues to read.
The event runs on Sunday, September 7 at Kin Park, located in the midst of 93 Street to 96A Street, and the East Bypass Road (119 Avenue).
Registration opens at 11:30 a.m. and the walk will commence at 1:00 p.m.
Lunch, which is provided by Subway and Mr. Mikes, will follow and plenty of prizes will also be up for grabs.
