Fivestar owner and promoter Justin Donally is excited about the card, especially the top matches of the evening.

“There will be three huge fights with a main, co-main, and a main event for the amateur side. In the main event Brad Stewart will be taking on Brendan Kornberger that should be a great fight. Of course Duncan [Wilson] has gone up to middleweight to challenge Micah Brakefield. Micah was a pretty talked about talent coming up,” he explained. “Dylan Lielke and Dane Newall on the amateur side will act as the undercard main event. Dylan is 4-0 and Dane is 6-0 so it’s a pretty big fight in the amateur world so they’ll be fighting for our amateur title.”

As the fifth ranked middleweight in Canada a win for Stewart could mean big things for his future.

“He’s been on quite a roll here lately and he’s been knocking guys out like crazy. He’s never had an easy fight, he’s never took an easy fight. Every guy he fights is high in the rankings. He went from fighting Jordan Beecroft who was 4-0 at the time, to fighting Matt Baker for our title and he’s highly ranked, to fighting Cody Krahn who’s ranked seventh and now Kornberger that’s in the top ten. He’s fighting the best guys available. There’s been calls from bigger promotions already and one more win will probably shoot him to the next level,” Donally said.

General admission seats and a few tables remain available in the third and fourth rows. Tickets can be purchased at the Fivestar training facility in Fort St. John, as well as Marc Joseph, Hi-Performance Motor Sports, and CAT Rentals. General admission seats are $65 and tables start at $800. Tickets will not be available at the door at the event, but they will be able to be purchased up until 6 p.m. on Friday at Fivestar Athletics. Doors at the Fort St. John Curling Club will open at 5:30 p.m. The prelims are slated for 6:30, while the main card is expected to start at 7:30.
