Wilson gearing up for middleweight bout against Micah Brakefield

Despite being victorious in his last bout Wilson suffered a knee injury in training. This time around he is feeling great leading up to the fight.

“The knee is actually 100 per cent it’s felt really good. For what happened, I fractured it and sprained my ACL. I was back training a month later and it hasn’t bothered me at all. I lucked out,” he said.

During this round of training Wilson did encounter a back injury, but he’s back to feeling good

“Training is going really well. I was battling a little bit of a back injury but I’m past that. Brad and I are working hard every day. It’s going well.”

As for his opponent Micah Brakefield, Wilson is very familiar with what he’s capable of and has been focusing a lot of his training on jiu jitsu defence.

“I’ve fought on a number of the same cards as him. I know him personally. He’s a high level jits [jiu jitsu] guy and he’s really dangerous with triangles and arm bars. He’s game and I’m looking forward to it.
