“The houses were fairly close together so the fire was intense enough on the side of the house to extend into the next one,” Fire Chief for the City of Dawson Creek, Shorty Smith said.
One home-owner is covered by insurance while the other is unknown, according to Smith.
The fire department received the call a little after 5:20 p.m. yesterday afternoon and worked to extinguish the fire for nearly six hours.
There were a total of 23 firefighter on scene at the time, a mix of both full-time and paid on-call volunteers.
Luckily, there are no injuries reported, however, the cause of fire remains under investigation.
“We’ve got teams right now that are just heading there,” Smith said.
