“The Onstage Series experience seats the audience on stage with the artists,” the North Peace Cultural Centre said in a written statement. “Picture it… you and your friends, tablecloths and candle light, enjoying an intimate experience of epic musical proportion with some of the finest artists from across North America just an arms length away! It’s a cool vibe that only this kind of show can provide.”
Bonneville has a long history of success within his industry, playing with such legends as B.B. King, Muddy Water, Robert Cray, Ray Wiley Hubbard and many more in the past.
“In the streets and clubs of New Orleans, Bonneville soaked up the prevalent take-your-time attitude that ran through the music being played there,” the centre writes. “That groove is at the core of Bonneville’s sound.
The centre adds, “A one man band, he backs up weathered, storytelling vocals with a highly percussive guitar style, dramatic harmonica lines and a foot that keeps the rock steady beat. The result is a big sound with an almost primitive quality. It’s visceral, raw music.”
The intimate performance is taking place on Wednesday October 22, beginning at 7:00 p.m. inside the Cultural Centre Stage.
You can purchase your tickets by calling 250 785 1992, online at npcc.bc.ca, or in person at the Ticket Centre, located on 10015 100 Avenue.
“A world-class guitarist, harmonica player and hard-hitting songwriter, it is no wonder that Ray has received multiple awards, rave reviews from Canadian and US blues, jazz and roots critics alike and can count among his fans such artists as Chris Smither, Tim O’Brien and Ray Wylie Hubbard,” the centre concludes.
