Fire destroys Robin Donuts, deemed suspicious

Cpl. Dave Tyreman says upon arrive of fire crew responding to the fire just after midnight, the investigation into the cause of fire was deemed suspicious.

“Due to the extent of damage caused by the fire, the scene remains secure by police until plans can be made for a full fire scene examination.” Northern Rockies RCMP detachment commander, Sgt. Steve McLeod said in a written statement. “This is expected to take several days before investigators can enter the property and begin their examination.”

Sgt. McLeod goes on to explain, “A fire scene exam is a lengthy and detailed process by a specialized investigator who will collect evidence from the scene to determine how the fire started – in may take some time before we are able to determine the exact cause of the fire.”

At this time, investigators have deemed the fire to be an isolated incident, and therefore, do not believe there is risk to the public.
