It’s been without a Member of Parliament since September, when Conservative Rob Merrifield resigned to work in Alberta’s Washington, D.C., office.

Prime Minister Harper announced the Yellowhead by-election on Sunday and voters will also go to the polls on November 17th in Whitby-Oshawa.

That’s the Ontario riding formerly held by Finance Minister Jim Flaherty who passed away last April.

We note again, that Mr. Eglinski, was born and raised in Alberta, before he spent 35 years with the RCMP in British Columbia, retiring in 2002, as officer in charge of the Fort St. John detachment.

He was then elected to Fort St. John city council and three years later, in 2005, he won the mayoralty race.

He and his wife moved back to Alberta in 2011, and they now live on an acreage outside of Edson.
