Investigators trying to determine motive for shooting in residential home

“On October 28, 2014 at 8:30 p.m., the Northern Rockies RCMP (Fort Nelson) received a complaint reporting that a 25 year old man had been shot in a residence in the 1000 block of Sikanni Road,” Cpl. Dave Tyreman said in a written statement.

The victim was flown to Edmonton Hospital where he remains in stable condition, according to Cpl. Tyreman.

The investigation is being led by the Northern Rockies RCMP, the North District Regional General Investigation Section (GIS) and Williams Lake Forensic Identification Section.

The parties involved all knew each other, and therefore, investigators do not believe the public is at risk.

The motive for this shooting is unknown at this time, and the Northern Rockies RCMP is asking if anyone has any information regarding this investigation to contact them at 250-774-2700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
