Medial Clinic closing walk-in to unattached patients

“We are looking at probably half the people in the walk-in clinic don’t have a family practitioner, so that means a lot of our own patients are having problems being seen,” Office Manager, Lisa Goodland said. “…Most doctors are booking probably 4-6, maybe even longer than that, weeks in advanced.”

Goodland adds, “The doctors had to decide what to do. Do we keep servicing the whole community or do we service our patients who can’t even get in to see their family doctor?”

Goodland is asking those seeking medical attention without a family physician to be seen at the Unattached Patient Clinic, located on 10011 96 Street in the same building as the Fort St. John Medical Clinic.

The Unattached Patient Clinic can be reached at 250 262 5210

Goodland concludes by saying she’s under the impression there’s only one doctor currently working in that clinic, although this hasn’t been confirmed by the Unattached Patient Clinic, and therefore, she recommends calling in advance as there most likely a limit on the amount of patients seen in one day.
