Unemployment rate remains below 4 per cent.

Approximately 37,400 people were working September compared to 36,600 in August.

Across the province the Northeast continues to have the lowest unemployment rate with the North Coast & Nechako region having the highest at 10 per cent. In the Province the rate is 6.2 per cent, the same as August.

Across the country employment increased by 74,000 in September, nearly all in full-time work. This pushed the unemployment rate down 0.2 percentage points to 6.8 per cent, the lowest since December 2008.
