Youth rescued after being trapped at Peace View Point

“The youth reported the call himself to 911 and we responded to the look out here,” Fire Chief Fred Burrows explains. “It did take us sometime to locate the youth [because] we did not know where he fell over and nobody had witnessed that.”

Fortunately, the rescue squad managed to locate the victim after pinpointing the location of call though communication with the responding dispatcher.

Fire Chief Burrows estimates the man trapped was approximately 300 feet down the embankment, a rescue that took an approximate hour and a half.

The victim is currently being treated by B.C. Ambulance with undetermined injuries.
