Annual Fort St. John Santa Claus Parade back for another round

This family-friendly event, and that’s why Parade Marshall Larry Evans says the safety of children and parents is “paramount” to its success.

“If you’re driving around be very, very careful and obey all the traffic people,” Evans said. “We have professional traffic people running the parade and than we have volunteer people on the side streets just blocking them off so people don’t come into 100 [Street].”

The Santa Claus Parade starts at 6:00 p.m. from the area of 98 Street and 110 Avenue, it heads west on 108 Avenue and turns south on 100 Street heading down to 96 Avenue where is turns east.

After the parade, there will be the ‘Christmas Tree Light Up’ at 7:00 p.m. with complimentary hot chocolate and hotdogs in Centennial Park.

“Once they get down to Centennial Park, then all of the activities start; there’s hot dogs and there’s music, and you get to see Mr. and Mrs. Claus and maybe get to talk to them,” Evans explained.

There’s also the opportunity to skate with the Fort St. John Huskies, and if you are interested, contact Bill Snow at 250 261 3129
