“As a result of speaking with the driver of the suspect vehicle, the officer detained the driver of the vehicle and entered into an impaired driving investigation,” Cpl. Dave Tyreman said in a written statement.

According to police reports, The RCMP received numerous complaints, which began a little after 8:00 p.m., that a dump truck towing two trailers had one them raised so high that it was catching on the power lines in the parking lot of 7-Eleven; with additional reports indicating the driver took out power line and poles on Nicholson Road near the 4800 block of North Access Road.

The Chetwynd RCMP is asking anyone who may have witnessed any erratic driving of this vehicle to contact the Chetwynd RCMP at 250-788-9221.
