“It really is an exiting position to have and it’s a leadership role in our community,” Executive Director of the local Chamber of Commerce, Lilla Hansen said.
Hansen says there are a number of roles a member can take on during their time within this volunteer position, including but not limited to human resources, event coordinator and director of social media.
“It’s more about getting their knowledge, their feedback, their input; just getting all their different opinions,” Hansen goes on to explain. “We definitely like to have a wide sector of businesses represented as well so it’s not heavy on one end.”
There are a couple of other commitments one needs to make before volunteering, which includes attending their one hour board meeting, held every second Tuesday of the month; as well as attending chamber functions, including mixers, luncheons, and special events.
