Snow will change to freezing rain this evening from Chetwynd southeastwards. Snow is expected to persist in Dawson Creek tonight, but a risk of freezing rain exists. Over southern sections including Tumbler Ridge, precipitation will start as rain and could change to freezing rain tonight. Conditions will improve early Saturday morning.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.

Freezing Rain Warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.

Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required. Please monitor local media or Weatheradio. Email reports of severe weather to [email protected] or tweet with the hashtag #BCStorm.

3:00 PM PST Friday 07 November 2014
Snowfall warning in effect for:

  • B.C. North Peace River

Snowfall, with total amounts of about 10 cm is expected.

An approaching warm front will continue to give snow to the Northern BC Peace River district tonight. Snowfall amounts near 10 cm are expected before the snow tapers to flurries Saturday morning.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
