Huskies edge Vipers 3-2 for much needed win

The Vipers opened the scoring in the first period 7:22 in as Taylor Belcourt found the back of the net. Despite being held off the scoreboard the Huskies outshot the Vipers 14-9 in the frame.

The Huskies got going in the second period. They tied the game just 1:29 in and scored two more times to take a 3-1 lead. The Vipers closed within one before time expired. The third saw no scoring as the Huskies held on for the win.

Scoring the Fort St. John in the game were Jerome Thorne, Carson Richards, and Cayle Bell. Assists went to Jordan Gies, Jarod Lang, Shawn Wilson, Jerome Thorne, and Joshua Robinson.

Goaltender Logan Edwards turned aside 28 of 30 shots for the win.

The Huskies will continue their four game home stand on Saturday night as they welcome the Beaverlodge Blades to the North Peace Arena at 8 p.m.
