In Saturday’s game the Thunder held a 2-1 lead after the opening 20 minutes, and exploded for six goals in the second. The Flyers tried to keep pace as they put up four goals but found themselves down 8-5 heading into the third period.
The Flyers came out strong in the third with four unanswered goals to lead 9-5. The team was unable to hang on however as the Thunder deposited five goals in the final 7:31 of the game.
Scoring for the Flyers were Max Dobson (3), Aiden Craig-Steele (3), Connor Kindrat, Cooper Beamish, Max Dobson, and Isaac Wagner.
Sunday’s game was evenly played throughout. The contest was tied at two after the first, four after the second, and five after the third. The shots were also close as the Flyers held the edge at 39-36.
Goal scorers for the Flyers were Kolton Leslie (2), Reid Jacobs (2), and Aiden Craig-Steele.
Next for Flyers are two games on the road next weekend against Fort McMurray.
